Peggy Sirota has been quietly photographing celebrities for over 15 years. For her first book, Guess Who, published by the renowned Steidl Press, she contacted a number of actors, musicians and athletes and asked them to donate their time to AIDS Porject Los Angeles - the trick being to ask them to renounce their celebrity status.
Sirota created portraits of these people who are either disguised or unrecognizable at first glance. The corresponding caption is their name, but scrambled, which only adds to the fun of guessing who's in the photo. A wonderfully witty and humorous book.
