WALTHER KÖNIG Nam June Paik / Exposition of Music, Electronic Television
The Exposition of Electronic Music - Electronic Television is the first solo exhibition by artist Nam June Paik presented in 1963 at Galerie Parnass in Wuppertal, West Germany.
Just out of his studies with John Cage and Karlheinz Stockhausen, Paik creates a disorientating environment. Visitors are confronted with the novelty of the electronic image in Paik's television monitors and find themselves embedded in a Dadaist installation featuring prepared pianos, mechanical sound objects, record players and audio tape installations. This book reconstructs that exhibition.
